LST 2024

Posted by Logan Wade | Sep 8, 2024 | Show Coverage | 0

Bigger, Better, Baddest. Three words that describe Lone Star Throw Down perfectly.  After all, everything is bigger in Texas! When pre-registration goes live you had better not be sleeping, if you snooze you lose on this show. Each year there are thousands of people waiting anxiously to click send the day pre-registration opens. Once the 2,000 spots are sold out, that is it. Vehicles from across the country invade Texas each February for this spectacular event. All in hopes to score a piece of that premium Canadian billet, sculpted by Philbuilt Designs.  Or perhaps a chance to take home Bae 8.0.

From Thursday to Sunday the show grounds were packed with spectators and participants. You could not have asked for better weather, 80 degrees and sunny. Perfect!  Car enthusiasts came out in droves to support this long running Texas show.  From lifted to lowered, classics to mini trucks, even a custom lawn mower! This show has something to offer for every age category.  A good pair of walking shoes are essential to cover the vast show grounds. There are no worries when it comes to getting your steps in. Custom vehicles were as far as the eyes could see and tucked in every corner. Vendors could be found scattered throughout the show grounds offering just about anything you could ever want.  From clothes to fill your spring wardrobe, to the perfect set of wheels for your vehicle, you name it, and you could buy it.  Cruising through the fairgrounds seemed to be where the action was at for the weekend. I myself, had to hitch a ride in my favorite blazer, Pinky Swear, to see what all the fuss was all about.  A ten out of ten for sure! I highly recommend taking at least one lap to embrace the magnitude of this awesome show.

Sunday was one for the record books, with the crew of MTI Automotive Designs and Upholstery taking home the highly sought after Best of Show Bae 8.0 for the third year in a row. I wonder what adventures await Chris Pate and Bae for the rest of the year, time will only tell.

If I had to sum up LST in one word it would be amazing! From the time you walk through the gate, to the time you leave you will be in awe. Lonnie, Radar, Jarrod, and the team have knocked it out of the park with this show! A can’t miss show for sure. One time of going and you will be hooked, guaranteed. Do yourself a favor and put it on your show list for 2025. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

Mini Truckin’ Magazine stands strong with LST. Don’t let the negative actions of some keep us from enjoying what we have come to love.
